This time, CHEAP MONDAY wanted to try out a different aesthetic; sparkling, extrovert and shameless. For inspiration, they looked at Latin denim fashions, Italian diamonté and LA celebrity taste.

To get a contemporary feel in the collection, they have also worked with a cleaner, more fabric focused and minimalistic look.

A combination of the exaggerated and the minimalistic creates the balance for SS11. The silhouettes are cropped and wide, mixed with long length skirts and dresses. Sport detailing, like drawstrings are used throughout the collection.

Colours are skin, bunny pink, fog blue, mustard and cloud grey. Sheer fabrics are used in knits, jerseys and wovens.

Tops, shirts and sweats have faded areas, the same way jeans have, as well as watercolour prints, glitter bombs and bold graphic shapes. Fake silver nails have been used as embel-lishment and as actual jewellery pieces for women. For men we made a jewellery set from comb shapes.

Freshjive moves forward with its new direction as the clothing label presents visuals for Spring 2011. A bit less “streetwear” than previous seasons, the line still retains an edge that is undoubtedly Freshjive, with pieces coming in a nice array of styles tying back to the label’s California roots. Highlights of the new season range from striped button-downs to hoodies, nautical tank tops, chinos, shorts, fleece and of course a solid collection of graphic T-shirts.

Began in March 2008, when Shaun Samson was making leggings as holiday gifts for friends that result astounding responses from people. Samson soon collaborated with Shawn Kaleka, building their own line of leggings called Costume Dept. The designers intended to create leggings that would suit the tastes of every woman, from the extremely zany to the truly stylish. The collection was a huge success, the fashion line then expanded to the full collection. Its unique patterns and quirky designs were inspired by pop culture, emerging artists and the nightlife sub-culture. Grand Opening

On Saturday, June 13th 2009, TRIBUTE held a Grand Opening party, which was attended by more than 500 guests. The event started in store and continued with an after party on the 2nd floor, where we introduced the TRIBUTE special cocktail, which we created ourselves especially for the event. Music selected by our good friends, including DJs Ridwan and Derry spinning leftfield and odd ball disco and Indonesia’s legendary DJ Anton Wirjono, the Godfather and pioneer of house music in Indonesia, who has been leading the scene for decades.

Guests stayed until the very end of the event, which has become much talked about and reviewed greatly in local media.
